Credits and Payments
Note: As of October 2024, USAC no longer sends paper invoices. Individual credit and payment transactions are viewable in your statement summaries in E-File. E-File also includes a “Payments History” view.
In E-File, your statement summaries show a summary of the credits and payments that have been applied to the related statement balance.
When you make a payment, E-File will list every statement with an outstanding balance. By default, the system will populate the payment amounts with each statement’s current balance due.
If needed, you can modify the payment amounts to make partial payments, and you can remove statements that you do not wish to apply payments to at that time.
After you make a payment, USAC will update the balances of the designated statement IDs. Please note that the balance will not be updated immediately. View the statement summary to see the date that the balance was last updated.
Common Credit Examples
- Late Payment Fee Credit – a reversal of interest previously charged
- Late Filing Fee Credit – a reversal of a late filing fee previously charged
- Support Mechanism Credit – any credit to a prior contribution obligation which occurs by either form revision or through the true up process
- Disbursement Credit – the application of a company’s disbursement support to that company’s contribution obligation (debt that becomes delinquent may be subject to the provisions of the Red Light Rule)
