Important Notice
On March 1, 2006, the Federal Communications Commission released an Order that extends the deadline for eligible consumers affected by Hurricane Katrina to sign up for federal Lifeline support for a free wireless handset and a package of at least 300 minutes of use. Because many hurricane victims remain displaced, the Commission found that it is in the public interest to extend the provision of federal Hurricane Katrina Lifeline support until June 1, 2006.
USAC’s administrative deadline for carriers to file Hurricane Katrina support claims is extended until July 17, 2006.
