Site Visits FAQs
How was I selected? Site visit recipients will be selected at random by USAC.
How long will the visit last? Visits will typically last between three and four hours, depending on how much your health care facility has to share with the Site Reviewer.
Do I need to prepare anything in advance? Yes. You will receive a list of pre-site visit questions approximately two weeks prior to the site visit. USAC recommends that the person responsible for managing the health care provider's Universal Service Fund support allot no more than sixty minutes to complete the list of questions prior to the day of the site visit. This will help the person be prepared for the types of questions the Site Reviewer will be asking and identify any additional personnel that may need to be present during the site visit. You do not need to have documentation related to the application process prepared for the visit.
Will I need to make my consultant available? No. It is not necessary to have your consultant present during the site visit. However, consultants may attend the site visit or participate remotely via conference call at your discretion.
What will USAC do with the information? Data collected during the site visit process will be used by USAC for a number of purposes, including:
- Identifying best practices to share with other program participants.
- Improving USAC's outreach and education efforts.
- Improving USAC's administration of the Universal Service Fund Rural Health Care program.
- Gaining an understanding of how health care providers interact with USAC and manage their Universal Service Fund support.
