Rural Health Care Conference Calls Minutes

Conference Call Minutes February 8

RHC Staff began the conference call with a Funding Year 2006 update.  Applicants may check the status of their applications by viewing the Packet Status Report, which can be accessed through the Rural Health Care Search Tools on the left hand side of this webpage.  Staff also requested that applicants continue to submit their backup documentation of their applications.

Staff then provided a short update on the outreach and site visit initiatives.  During the next calendar year the Rural Health Program will conduct an extensive outreach campaign to uncover potential participants to the program.  A new brochure is being designed and will be available in the late spring.  In conjunction with this effort, the Rural Health Care Program will conduct 50 on site visits with participants to the program.  Soon there will be a webpage dedicated to these efforts. 

RHC staff discussed the FCC notice which expanded eligibility in the Rural Health  Care Pilot Program to include connections to National LambdaRail, Inc. in addition to Internet2.  Click http://www.usac.org/_res/documents/rhc/pdf/DOC-270344A1.pdf to read the release.
Finally, RHC Staff announced that the Window for FY2007 will open on March 12, 2007.  

1. To be eligible for a full year's support , an applicant must post Form 465 by June 2, 2007, unless you have an evergreen contract (see below). Remember you must wait 28-days for bids before entering into a service agreement.
2. If you have an " evergreen contract " but might change your service or renew your contract during Fund Year 2007, you should post a Form 465.   (Evergreen contracts must have been verified by RHCD in a prior Fund Year.)
3. If you have enabled E-Cert, go to Applicant Login  to submit and post a Form 465 .  If you have not enabled E-Cert, but are eligible as a prior applicant, login and enable E-Cert before completing Form 465.
