RHCD is almost finished with paying invoices for FY2002 and hopes to bring the FY2003 Form 466 application period to close in early fall. [The FCC just announced as 9/20/04 as the closing] Letters announcing the closing date will be sent in August. For FY2003 RHCD estimates that about 75% of expected Form 466 applications have come in, but many more remain to be submitted. Applicants were encouraged to take advantage of the minimal current wait time for processing and not to wait until the deadline for 2003 applications. RHCD requested that outstanding 467’s for FY2003 be sent as soon as possible. RHCD further noted that processing of FY 2004 Forms 466 and 466-A would begin shortly.

It was announced on the call, that RHCD has begun planning for FY2005 and hopes to have a window open in late fall. RHCD is considering further streamlining of forms and welcomes suggestions. It was mentioned on the call as well that the FCC may provide a NPRM on the subject of the definition of Rural as early as late fall 2004.
